Financial Professional Network (FPN)
The UIS FPN is a new offering that was launched in the Spring of 2008. The FPN is designed to connect driven, motivated students with successful alumni who have significant professional experience in the finance industry. If you are committed to pursuing a career in a particular industry, you can apply for a Mentor in the UIS FPN (details below) and he or she will guide you through the requisite steps to break into the industry from UCSD. Our six key industries are:
Investment Banking
Investment Management
Private Equity
Corporate Finance
Management Consulting
Venture Capital
Each of these industries is highly competitive and requires significant interest and diligence on the applicant's part. To help candidates from UCSD, the UIS FPN is developing "Breaking Into" guides. The first of these guides is available for FREE DOWNLOAD: Breaking into Investment Banking
To apply to have an Investment Banking mentor through the UIS FPN, download the Guide and read through it. At the end of the Guide, there's a Mentee Roadmap form (which is also available separately HERE. Fill out the top half, attach it to your resume, and write a cover letter for an Analyst position at any investment bank. The application deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Monday, June 30th, 2008. You can submit all three electronically to uis AT ucsd DOT edu.
Stay tuned for more guides and events!
